Guilherme Santos was proudly, openly gay — and everyone in his small town knew it. That’s what made life hard. People whispered when he walked by. Some called him names. Others said a “man like him” shouldn’t be cooking, especially not in their neighborhood.

But Guilherme didn’t care. He loved who he was. He also loved pizza.
